Enter the Faerie Kingdom

Enter the Faerie Kingdom

Fairy is the modern spelling of the word and is often spelt “Faerie”.  Which comes from Middle English and evolved from old French.  Following the etymology further back to the Latin, we get “fata” which means the goddess of fate.  The creatures in ancient folklore were often portrayed as powerful beings who could wreak havoc on the lives of humans.  Webster has synonyms listed as “brownie, dwarf, elf, fairy, faery, fay, gnome, goblin, gremlin, hobgoblin, and kobold”.   At some point, I might find myself looking back to see where these words came from and how the relate to each other.  It might make an interesting study.  For my purposes it will suffice to say that it can consist of any of the above listed creatures.  I hope you enjoy the pictures.  As I process them I will add the gallery, so check back soon.
